Lyrics for “SEEKERS
LYRICS
RESUSCITATE
May my life justify your death, I want to sing but I have no breath.
I’ve run out of metaphors for this destruction, there’s only symptoms of disease. A rotting heart bleeds with toxins, slowly and surely killing me.
Well every breath that I take, I suffocate a little more. And every step that I take seems to the grave, I know what is in store.
I deserve those flames that you burned in. I sent you to your death, and you went smiling.
There are no more substitutes, for this medication, just duplicates of release. An open heart ready for reconstruction, so reach your way in and rescue me.
I need to be set free, because I am drowning, I can’t find the surface, rescue me.
Resuscitate me, open my lungs, I will breathe again, I will breathe again.
DEAD FUTURE
There comes a time, in every man’s life, when he decides, to kill his dreams or keep them alive.
If home is where the heart is, then my heart is out at sea, being tossed from wave to wave, I hope it will drift back to me.
There is a choke, at the top of my throat, where the truth wants to be said, but I’m too scared to speak.
Don’t let your heart be troubled, believe in me.
You say I’m destined for greatness, from what is see I’m not even good. I didn’t think I could ever doubt this, but now I know that I never should.
If home is where the heart is, then my heart is out at sea, being tossed from wave to wave, I hope it will drift back to me.
I waste so much time here, doing the things that get me nowhere. I have a lot to do, and a lot to prove, with more than apathy to lose.
MEMENTO MORI
When I look into your eyes, all I fear inside of me will show itself to you. I just need a little time, to put myself together, and do what’s best for you.
I never thought I’d see the day, where I don’t see you around, I hope that when you see me, from way up there, that I make you proud.
Remnants of history dissolving before my eyes, pieces of so much that once defined a life.
I hope that I’m doing as good a job as you thought I would, but I know that I still have a lot to learn.
I have a lot to learn (You know I have a lot to learn, but I have to start somewhere.)
When I look into your eyes, all I fear inside of me will show itself to you. I just need a little time, to put myself together, and do what’s best for you.
I don’t know.
I will not waste one second more, I refuse to live for myself, I will live with grace in mind, I will make use of this place in time, I will live for other people, I will not waste one second more, because life is too precious to lose, from here on out, I will live for truth.
I won’t waste one second more, I refuse to live for myself, I will live with grace in mind, I will make use of this place in time.
But I have a lot to learn. (Because this life is too precious to lose, from here on out I will live for truth.)
GRAVE ROBBERS
When I die, they will look for me in my grave, but won’t find me there.
When I die, they will place a stone above my head but I won’t care.
I will not, rot or decay, I will spend forever with the king of kings, and they might think I’ve gone, and death will take my body, but one thing is for sure, I will have life.
Death has no power over me.
Because my king already died. He was beaten, he bled, and was crucified.
Don’t look for me in my grave, cause you won’t find me there. I will never die.
RADICALS
We will not suffer from modesty.
Look into our eyes and you’ll see a fire, listen to our hearts and you’ll hear passion screaming. Can you hear our hearts screaming? Our hearts are screaming.
We will not fall like they fall around us; we will not fall subject to corruption. We will stand above the rest. Society doesn’t want us, and we don’t want it.
This is a revolution, this is re-constitution, this is a sovereignty, this is a prophecy.
Look into our eyes and you’ll see a fire, listen to our hearts and you’ll hear passion screaming. Can you hear our hearts screaming? Our hearts are screaming.
THE VIGILANT FEW
You can trust in us to be standing in the gap.
When all else is failing and the world is falling around you, look to us to be standing for the broken.
I don’t think that you see what exactly you’ve been made to be. We are all guardians and we will fight to defend this generation.
We will not face this alone.
We are the ones, the children of light, we do not fear death and we thrive in the night. We are the ones who your monsters fear. Their blood spills when we draw near. When we draw near, their blood spills
We are not built on struggle, we are built on victory.
So stand with us if you want to change the world, cause we will stand when there is no one else. We are the vigilant, the vigilant few.
SARAH’S SONG
She enters the room, and feels all their eyes falling on her, remembering the mistakes she’s made, creating a person that she hates. She hates herself, because they hate her.
She sees the other girls. If only she had their figure, if only she had their words.
Then life wouldn’t be so bad. Then she wouldn’t feel alone. But she’s the one who made the bed, she’s the one who dug the hole.
So she dreams, about a place far off, a different town with different friends. She swears to herself that she could make the right impressions, if she could start again.
But she doesn’t know:
She doesn’t know, that there is one out there who sees her beautiful.
She doesn’t know that there are eyes that don’t search for her skin.
If only, her eyes were bluer, if only, her stomach was flatter, if only, her legs were longer, if only, she could be stronger. She wants to be stronger.
Don’t settle for nothing, you can have everything. You can have it all.
FOR THE SEEKERS
Come home to me and be satisfied.
Come home to me and you’ll be fine.
Can’t you see all of my pain and all of my struggles God?
Allelujah
